Common NHS Bundle Blood Test
COMMON NHS BUNDLEBLOOD TEST
This combination of tests gives a thorough snapshot of your overall health, covering the body's most critical systems in one go. This test bundle covers all the biomarkers of a common NHS blood test. Here's why each marker matters:
FBC - Full Blood Count
The foundation of any health check. It examines your red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, helping to detect Anaemia (fatigue, breathlessness, weakness), Infections or immune issues (abnormal white cell counts), Clotting problems (low platelet levels), and Nutritional deficiencies(such as iron or B12 deficiency).
Many people walk around feeling constantly tired without realising anaemia or another blood disorder is the cause. An FBC can flag this immediately.
Liver Function
Your liver works silently and rarely gives obvious warning signs until damage is advanced. This panel checks how well your liver is filtering toxins, identifies early signs of fatty liver disease (increasingly common even in non-drinkers), damage caused by alcohol, medication or poor diet, and Inflammation or infection such as hepatitis.
Given the rise in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in the UK, this is an increasingly important test even for people who feel perfectly healthy.
Advanced Electrolytes
Electrolytes regulate almost every function in the body - from heart rhythm to muscle contraction and hydration. This panel checks sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium and more.
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
The thyroid is one of the most commonly overlooked causes of everyday symptoms. TSH measures how well your thyroid is functioning, flagging Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) which causes weight gain/fatigue/depression/feeling cold/brain fog, and Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) which can cause weight loss, anxiety, palpitations, and insomnia.
Thyroid dysfunction is particularly common in women and is frequently mistaken for depression, menopause or general fatigue.
HbA1c - Average Blood Sugar
This is the gold standard test for identifying diabetes and pre-diabetes. Unlike a standard glucose test, HbA1c reflects your average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months, making it far more accurate.
Cholesterol Panel
High cholesterol has no symptoms - most people don't know they have it until something goes wrong. This panel breaks down Total cholesterol, LDL (bad cholesterol), HDL (good cholesterol), and Triglycerides.
High cholesterol is one of the leading risk factors for cardiovascular disease, the UK's biggest killer. Catching it early through a simple blood test can be genuinely life-saving.
